One-time NUJ National Secretary, Pa Ogunlusi Is Dead

The death has occurred of Former National Secretary, Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Pa Jola Ogunlusi.
He died today following a brief illness at the of aged 91.
A statement by the family signed by Mr. Gbenga Aruleba of African Independent Television AIT, said Papa Jola, as he was fondly known,lived a fulfilled life, a life dedicated to the service of humanity and God.
Mr Aruleba, from his active days as a Journalist in the early 70’s and later his assumption of office as the National Secretary of The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Pa Ogunlusi was indeed an epitome of dedication, loyalty and singular commitment to equity, Justice and fairness.
He described the deceased as a kind, loving and caring man to his family, extended family members, colleagues, aquitances and people, generally.
Mr Aruleba explained that Pa Ogunlusi was President of FESTAC Town Residents Association and his efforts, alongside others, eventually led to the creation of the Amuwo Odofin LCDA.
According to him, Pa Ogunlusi was also during his lifetime the Chairman of the Community Development Council, Amuwo Odofin chapter, where his commitment to Community development shone brightly.
He pointed out that their late father really impacted their lives and the lives of countless others in many ways they cannot over stressed as his legacy of love, wisdom, and kindness will continue to inspire his children, family and friends.
Mr Aruleba said while the family is in the process of announcing his burial plans, he requested prayers, condolences, and support for the family during this difficult time.
