Nigerian Karate players have been advised to always be watchful of their strength, stamina and endurance as fundamental in determining their performance.
Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Mogaji gave the encouragement today while receiving the Lead Karate Coach and players who participated in the just concluded fourth Japanese Ambassador Karate Tournament, held at the National Stadium, Abuja.
He described the players as good ambassadors of the state, considering their excelling performance at the event.
He charged the Karate players to always remain focused, determined and steadfast in subsequent competitions to attract more laurels for the state.
According to him, representatives from the state in every game to any sporting competition should avoid switch-off allegiance to other states towards deepening trust and loyalty.
He emphasized that any athlete or player from the State, who deliberately switch allegiance during competitions would henceforth, be disallowed from using sporting facilities in the state for free.
Mallam Mogaji however, applauded Karate contingent for their outstanding outing and reassured of continued support to improve their chances in future competitions.
Earlier, the Lead Karate Coach, Akeem Owolabi, while presenting the players, listed the composition of the categories that featured in the tournament and appreciated the Executive Chairman for his support to the team
Secretary, Karate Association, Aliyu Abubakar said the Karate team players returned from Abuja and won sliver and bronze medals for the state.
Abubakar also lauded the Karate players and saluted the State Sports Commission for the encouraging feat.
The players were also received by two board members of the Commission, Alhaji Dele Abubakar, Alhaji Abdullahi Lade and Commission Secretary, Mr Aruna Tsado.
Highpoint of the visit was presentation of medals earned by the players to Executive Chairman.
