KWASU Ilorin Emirate Staff Congratulates Professor Adua On Appointment As Dean Students Affairs, Lauds His Proven Track Records Of Nurturing Students Intellectual Growth
Chairman, Ilorin Emirate Staff at the Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Ibrahim Laaro Abubakar has congratulated Professor Sulaiman Sheu Adua on his appointment as Dean, Students affairs of the institution.
This is enshrined in a Congratulatory Message released by General Secretary of the Association, Doctor Abdullahi Bakare on behalf of the Chairman
He described Professor Sulaiman Sheu Adua is a distinguished Scholar of Islamic History, renowned for his extensive scholarship in the field and dedication to community development.
According to him, Professor Adua’s impressive academic journey spanned over four decades, starting from the Ghana Institute of Languages, where he obtained a High Proficiency Certificate in Arabic in 1981 before proceeding to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from 1986 to 1987, and earning a Diploma in Teaching of Arabic Language in 1987.
Professor Laaro-Abubakar noted that the appointee’s academic and professional journey reached its pinnacle when he was awarded a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies in 2012 at the University of Ilorin, and at Kwara State University in 2022, when he attained the prestigious rank of Professor, solidifying his expertise in Arabic and Islamic scholarship.
The KWASU Ilorin Emirate Staff maintained that Professor Adua’s teaching career reflects a remarkable progression across several institutions since 1984 as a teacher culminating in his appointment as a pioneer academic in 2009 at Kwara State University and eventual rise to Professor of Islamic History in 2022.
Professor Laaro-Abubakar opined that as a pioneer KWASU academic, his leadership was pivotal to the establishment of its academic programmes having played a key role in the development of Islamic and Arabic curricular and the mentorship of early cohorts of students, leading to his appointment as the chairman of Students’ Disciplinary Committee in 2012.
According to him, his antecedent stands him out as a beacon of excellence and a trailblazer as his appointment as Dean of Student Affairs demonstrates his unrelenting commitment to mentoring, education and institutional progress.
Adding yet another historic milestone to his decades of achievement is his just delivery of a captivating inaugural lecture, the first ever from his department.
