Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria ACHPH Kwara State Chapter has appealed to the general public to disregard the unfounded allegations by both Rufus Favour Mojirola and National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), in circulation against its profession.
This is contained in a statement by its State General Secretary Alhaji Jimoh Ibrahim in Ilorin titled “Disassociation From Incident Reported By Registered Nurse at Ekan PHC in Oke-Ero”.
According to the statement, the attention of the Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (ACHPN), Kwara State Chapter, has been drawn to a petition currently circulating on social media by one Rufus Favour Mojirola, a Registered Nurse serving at Ekan Primary Health Centre, Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State.
In her petition addressed to the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), she alleged acts of harassment and professional victimization against her by the Officer-in-Charge, Ayinde Risikat, and the Head of Department (Health), Helen Bosede Olawuyi, who are both Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs).
The Statement said following investigation on the matter, the Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria leadership paid a visit to Oke-Ero Local Government on Monday, 15th September 2025, at the Local Government Council.
It submitted that during the visit, the Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria made to realize that there was nothing like harassment as claimed by Rufus Favour Mojirola as all efforts to invite her for interrogation proved abortive as she refused to respond to several calls.
The ACHPN also assessed the facility in question and discovered that her claims were false, as the facility operates within the required standard.
As a responsible professional body, the Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria therefore dissociated the noble profession of community health practice from such alleged conduct.
It explained that members are guided by strict ethical standards and professional codes of practice, which condemn any form of victimization, harassment, or unprofessional behavior and expressed disappointment that a copy of a letter written to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, by the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) on this matter, without due investigation, has been made available to the public through Sahara Reporters.
The Community Health Practitioners described such action as uncalled for capable of misleading the public and unnecessary tension among health professionals, and undermine the collaborative spirit that should exist within the health sector.
The ACHPN reminded the public that Community Health Practitioners across Kwara State and Nigeria at large are dedicated frontline health workers, known for their commitment to quality healthcare delivery, community service, and ethical conduct.
The Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (ACHPN), Kwara State Chapter, has shown exemplary professionalism in addressing the baseless allegations leveled by Rufus Favour Mojirola and the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM). The ACHPNās prompt response, including a detailed investigation and a visit to Oke-Ero Local Government on September 15, 2025, demonstrates its commitment to transparency and upholding the reputation of Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs).The investigationās findings, which found no evidence of harassment or victimization at Ekan Primary Health Centre and confirmed the facilityās compliance with operational standards, highlight the importance of substantiating claims before publicizing them. The reported refusal of the accuser to engage in the investigative process further undermines the credibility of the allegations and emphasizes the need for accountability and cooperation in resolving disputes. It is regrettable that NANNM chose to escalate an unverified petition to the public domain through outlets like Sahara Reporters without thorough investigation. Such actions risk sowing discord among health professionals and misleading the public, which is counterproductive
I hope this issue between who heads a PHc facility should be addressed promptly it really getting out of hands nurses addressing community health practitioners trained quacks also going ahead to create community nurses and midwives just to relegate community health worker is really unprofessional
Community Health Extension Workers in Kwara State and across Nigeria are vital frontline health workers, known for their unwavering commitment to community service, ethical conduct, and adherence to professional standards. The ACHPNās emphasis on strict ethical guidelines reinforces the integrity of the profession, and their efforts to clarify this matter should be commended. We urge all stakeholders in the health sector to prioritize dialogue, evidence-based resolutions, and mutual respect to foster a harmonious working environment. The ACHPNās proactive approach serves as a model for responsible professional conduct, and we stand in support of their efforts to maintain the dignity and reputation of Community Health Practitioners while promoting unity within the healthcare community.
Thank you for this report. It is high time some errant Nurses put themselves in check and stop inter-cadre wrangling in health care environment which often lead to conflict.
Each cadre should do what is expected in order to achieve health for all which is our common goal.
To be sincere, this is getting too much on the nurses part, how on earth will a level 7 officer disrespect a level 16 officer, this is indeed lack of professional ethics and ethiqutte ,on no occasion you disrespect your superior officer, there should be punishment for this,to the so called nurse…
Solidarity forever!

The girl is very rude,I’m not sure she’s a professional. Professionals typically know and practice proper etiquette
