Political gladiators in Kwara South under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) today converged on Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State for Kwara South G7 Political Hangout to chart a new course for the unity of the Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The occasion the themed “Defining Unity of Purpose for Kwara-South Senatorial District”, attracted participants from Irepodun, Isin, Ifelodun, Ekiti, Oke-Ero, Oyun and Offa Local Governments. It took place at the City Hall Complex Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
In his lecture, a Security Expert, Barrister Femi Falade challenged political gladiators in the Senatorial District to strengthen their political capital for intervention of troubled areas in the zone.
Barrister Falade tasked political juggernauts to seek swelled pulative support from Federal Government to address insecurity, political imbalance and economic debacle in their domains.
On his part, Professor Ibikunle Petu of the National Open University of Nigeria identified political hypocrisy of some politicians as a factor hindering decent political process in Nigeria.
Professor Petu charged leaders in Kwara South to be reticent in prioritizing development of their respective areas devoid of political sentiments.
Also, Doctor Muideen Bammeke called for effective power rotation arrangement among various Local Governments in the Senatorial District to ensure equity and justice.
Doctor Bammeke charged the state government to always ensure even distribution of projects in the state and observed that newly established Kwara State University of Education should be situated in Kwara South to engender a sense of belonging.
