Sokoto Diocese Denies Reports Of Attack On Bishop’s Residence, Cathedral

Catholic Diocese of Sokoto has issued a disclaimer denying a misleading video circulating online claiming Bishop Kukah’s house, Cathedral, and Pastoral Centre were attacked.

The disclaimer was signed by Director of Communications, Diocese of Sokoto, Reverend Father Pascal Salifu.

The Diocese described the video as false, and the Bishop’s residence, Cathedral, and Pastoral Centre remain safe and operational.

According to the disclaimer, the fake video emerged following the murder of Deborah Yakubu, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, in Sokoto, May 2022.

The Diocese appreciated security agencies for responding promptly and assures Sokoto remains calm and peaceful.

It wished everyone a joyful and grace-filled Easter.
