Affluent Muslims have been charged to always earmark certain percentage of their wealth for endowment fund for the benefit of the poor in the society.
Missioner, Nasirullahil-Fatihi Society of Nigeria, NASFAT, Ilorin Main Branch, Alfa Muheebudeen Bello gave the charge while delivering a lecture on the topic ” Endowment (Waqf): A Viable Way Towards Islamic Propaganda ” at the ongoing Ramadan Lecture Series organized by Islamic Missionaries Association of Nigeria IMAN in Ilorin.
Alfa Bello described Endowment Fund/Waqf as ordained for every wealthy Muslim to be of aid to underprivileged.
He explained that prioritizing endowment fund to sponsor education, payment of hospital bills other humanitarian services for the less fortunate extremely rewarding in the sight of Allah.
The Islamic Scholar noted that endowment is one of the rules of Allah wealthy Muslims must strictly heed to without expecting monetary returns.
He categorically submitted that endowment differs from foundation with tendency of high expectations.
Alfa Bello applauded IMAN for enlightening Muslim Ummah on critical issues with Islamic Viewpoint.
In his contribution, Retired Khadi, Kwara State Shariah Court of Appeal, Ilorin, Justice Adam Idris enumerated the nitty-gritty of Endowment Fund/Waqf and cautioned against mismanagement.
Meanwhile, the lecture continues today with the topic ” Glaucoma : Causes, Signs Symptoms And Prevention” to be delivered by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Dr Abubakar Ayinla at IMAN Centre, New Yidi Road Ilorin beginning to half past four in the evening.
