Arewa Discussion Group (ADG) has condemned the recent spate of heinous attacks and mass killings targeting civilians across northern Nigeria, alleging a plot to subvert the 2027 elections.

In a Statement signed by Dr. Garba Abari, Spokesman of ADG, the Group expressed profound shock over the attacks and extended condolences to families of victims and devastated communities.

The Statement highlighted several atrocities, including the massacre of worshippers in Zamfara State, desecration of a mosque in Kebbi State, and bombings in Borno State, among others.

ADG noted that the northern region is under siege by criminal non-state actors operating with impunity, eroding state authority and threatening community survival.

The Group warned that the situation fits a pattern of using terrorism as a political tool to undermine the electoral process, creating fear and instability.

ADG called on the Federal Government to deploy enhanced security measures, ensure swift investigations, and safeguard the 2027 electoral process.

The statement urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and resist forces seeking to undermine democracy through violence and intimidation.
