The political climate of Kwara State is becoming clearer as the Former State Chairman of APC Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa appears to have secured the endorsement of the Party’s topmost level to be the party’s flag- bearer in forthcoming Gubernatorial Contest come January, 2027.
Inside sources who spoke to this medium revealed that the Former National Assembly Member who served as a Member of Representatives representing Lagos State from 2007 to 2015 is poised to pick the Party’s Ticket for Governorship Race in Kwara State.
Meanwhile, Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu has appealed to intending Gubernatorial Aspirants in Kwara state All Progressives Congress (APC) to support and work together for Former party Chairman Dr. Basir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB) to become the next governor of the state in May 2027.
In a statement personally signed by him, he described Dr Bolarinwa as a man that he believes truly deserves to be the next governor of Kwara state.
Mallam Issa-Onilu, who shelved his gubernatorial ambition to support Dr. Bolarinwa genuinely excited by the impressive array of political leaders who have expressed interest, showcasing a powerful coalition of accomplished individuals poised to further the progress achieved over the past seven years.
He also commended the maturity of each aspirant as it is now time for all party members to support Bolarinwa and stressed that the journey to build on the successes of the Otoge Revolution has just begun.
As the APC Primaries get closer, Mallam Issa-Onilu urged all Aspirants for the National and State Assemblies and their supporters to display understanding and offer unwavering commitment to the party.
The sources disclosed further that the Leader of the Party at the National Level who doubles as the President of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may have endorsed Dr. Bolarinwa after reflecting over his outstanding contribution, sacrifice, dedication, commitment which resulted in the success of APC in Kwara State in all the election conducted in 2019 and 2023.
