The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC)Â has officially commissioned and handed over the Patigi Erosion Control Drainage project to the Patigi Emirate.
Speaking with Journalists shortly after the commissioning, ceremony, the Development Officer Patigi Local Government, Amb.Hon Fatimah Asabe Jiyah described the project as timely and commended the management of N-HYPPADEC for considering Patigi as one of the benefiting communities from their various projects.
She noted that the present administration in the State under the leadership of His Excellency,Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq will continue to partner with the N-HYPPADEC to ensure that Kwara State benefit more projects from the commission.
The Patigi Erosion Control Drainage project is a significant milestone in the efforts to mitigate the effects of erosion in the area Adding that the project will provide relief to the communities affected by erosion and improve the overall environmental sustainability of the region she added.
Hon. Jiyah commended N-HYPPADEC for their efforts in completing the project and emphasized the importance of community development and the need for continued collaboration between government agencies and local communities.
The ceremony, which took place in Patigi was attended by dignitaries including His Royal Highness, Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, MD N-HYPPADEC, Minister for Youths Development Federal Republic of Nigeria, Commissioner for Environment, Kwara State, Party Stalwarts, Women and Youths of Patigi Emirate.
