NACHPN Visit:KWSG hails community health practitioners, promises to integrate them into State Health Programmes

Kwara State State Government has reiterated its commitment towards employing more Community Health workers in the State

State Commissioner for Health, Doctor Amina Ahmed El-Imam gave this indication while hosting National Vice President, National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria, North Central Zone, Comrade Muhammad Isiaka-Musa and State Administrative Council Members of the association in her office

Doctor El-Imam described roles of Community Health Practitioners as critical to the survival of health sector in the Country

She admitted that the number of Community Health Practitioners employed in 2022 by the state government is grossly inadequate assured them of increasing the number soonest

The Commissioner explained that Governor Abdulrahman led Administration is poised to engage more Community Health workers after sorting out the issues of Minimum wage, Local Government Autonomy and other related matters affecting the practitioners

The Commissioner welcomed National Vice President of Community Health Practitioners, Comrade Muhammad Isiaka-Musa to the state and applauded National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria for entrenching professional standards in the health sector in the state

Doctor El-Imam acknowledged Community Health Practitioners for being resolute and committed despite migration of doctors and nurses to abroad in search for greener pastures and promised to address integration of Community Health practitioners into State Health Programmes across the state

Earlier, National Vice President, National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria, Comrade Muhammad Siaka-Musa identified Community Health Practitioners as crucial to effective health service delivery

Comrade Siaka-Musa urged the State Government for improved welfare of his members in view of their preventive role in the health sector

He appreciated the state government for its determination in strengthening the health sector through qualified professionals and modern facilities
