Emir of Ilorin Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari has commended the Ilorin Eid Praying Ground Management and Development Committee under the leadership of Engineer Yusuf Lanre Sagaya, the Zannan of Ilorin on its effort to manage properly activities at the Praying Ground as well as develop the facility for better spiritual activities.
The Emir was speaking at his Palace today while receiving Engineer Yusuf Lanre Sagaya and his Team who came to welcome him back to his Palace after staying for four weeks in Turkey where he had gone for his annual vacation.
He described the reports he has been receiving on proper management and development of the Eid Praying Ground in Ilorin as fascinating and highly commendable
The Monarch urged the Committee not to relent in its effort to sanitize the the place for the spiritual benefits of genuine Muslim worshippers.
The Emir identified the Zannan of Ilorin Engineer Lanre Sagaya as one of the few Eminent Personalities from Kwara State who visited him while on vacation in Turkey and described him as an outstanding Ilorin Emirate indigene who valued so much the Royal Fathers and their traditional institutions as well as has greater respect for Islamic Scholars and values.
Earlier in his Address, the Zannan of Ilorin Emirate and Chairman of Ilorin Eid Praying Ground Management and Development Committee Engineer Yusuf Lanre Sagaya had told the Emir that he led members of his Committee to the Emir to welcome him back home from Turkey after his one month-long vacation in that Country.
He reeled out the achievements of his Committee since it’s establishment by the Emir in 2023 and said the mandate given to the Committee was being pursued vigorously.
Some of the achievements of the Committee he said, include fixing the dilapidated wall fence of the Praying Ground especially the back and front elevation as the rest would be completed soon.
Engineer Sagaya also pointed out that the establishment of strong security network to ward-off criminals loitering around the place day and night, stating that Police and Vigilante Operatives now secure that place day and night.
The Arrowhead said his Committee has provided solar power system to provide regular water supply to the facility and installed CCTV facilities to monitor happenings at the Ilorin Praying Ground from anywhere by chosen personnels of the Committee.
He stated further that tarring of some parts of the Praying Ground has commenced and would continue with hope of it completing it fully.
Engineer Sagaya appealed to Muslims using the Praying Ground to avoid doing any unislamic practices in that place of worship and obey directives given by the Security Operatives.
Among those who accompanied the Chairman to welcome the Emir was the Secretary of the Ilorin Eid Praying Ground Management and Development Committee Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim, the Magajin-Gari of Ilorin Alh. A. Mohammed, the retired Kwara State Grand Kadi Hon. Jus. Idris Abdullahi Haroon, Arc. Mahmud Faworaja and Alh. Muri Adi of Muri Adi & Associates.
Others are Retired Surveyor-General of Kwara State Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed, Professor A. S. Aremu of University of Ilorin and Alh. Ibrahim Salman, Former DG Lands Kwara State.
