The students of Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode (KWCONOO), who recently emerged second at the Nigerian Universities Nursing Students Association (NUNSA) Quiz Competition, on Tuesday, 9th June 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Provost of the College, Alhaji Olanrewaju AbdulQuadri, to formally present the certificate awarded to the College following their outstanding performance.
While receiving the students and their Dean, the Provost expressed delight at the team’s impressive outing, describing their achievement as a source of pride to the College.
In recognition of their excellence and dedication, he announced a cash reward of Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000) each for the four student representatives: Oriade Abdulsalam, Abey kazeem Ayobami, Kareem idayat omotoyosi, and Arowolo Rodiat; as well as the Dean of Students Affairs (DSA), Mr Mohammed Sani, who provided coaching and mentorship to the team.
Alhaji AbdulQuadri noted that the College’s second-place finish was particularly commendable, considering that the institutions that placed ahead and behind KWCONOO are degree-awarding universities.
According to him, the College can rightly be regarded as the best-performing nursing institution at the competition.
Present during the presentation were the Acting Registrar, Mr Hanafi Ibrahim; the Dean of Students Affairs, Mr Mohammed Sani; and three of the four student representatives: Oriade Abdulsalam, who doubles as the President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG); Abey Kazeem Ayobami; and Kareem Idayat Omotoyosi.
The College Management congratulates the students and their coach on this remarkable achievement and wishes them continued success in future academic engagements.
