Socio-Cultural Group, Omo Aj’orosun Club, Ibadan, is set to mark the 46th edition of the Omo Aj’orosun Day Celebration in grand style.
Under the distinguished leadership of its President, Mogaji Salahudeen Qumardeen Adeniyi, JP, the remarkable event is scheduled to hold between 20th and 27th of June, 2026.
Founded in 1980, Omo Aj’orosun Club remains one of the foremost socio-cultural organizations committed to the preservation of Ibadan’s rich heritage, the promotion of unity among its people, and the advancement of community development initiatives both at home and in the diaspora.
This year’s celebration promises to be a remarkable week of cultural pride, community service, intellectual engagement, philanthropy, sports, and entertainment, culminating in a grand finale on Saturday, 27th June 2026.
The occasion is expected to be graced by distinguished personalities, including His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, IDSc, GSSRS, Executive Governor of Oyo State and Patron of the Club, who will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.
His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Sen.) Dr. Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland and Grand Patron of the Club, will be the Royal Father of the Day.
While High Chief Theresa Laduntan Arilewola Atobatele Oyekanmi, the Iyalode of Ibadanland, will serve as the Grand Matron of the Day; Otunba Comr. Salimon Akanni Oladiti, National President of NUPENG, will be the Chairman of the Occasion.
Other eminent guests expected include Senator (Barr.) Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, Chief Adegboyega Adegoke, Chief (Engr.) Dotun Sanusi (Ilaji), Hon. Adedeji Stanley Olajide (Odidi-Omo), Chief (Dr.) Adesola Adeduntan, FCA, FCIB, former Chief Executive Officer of First Bank Limited, alongside several other distinguished sons and daughters of Ibadanland, captains of industry, traditional leaders, public office holders, and respected stakeholders from across Nigeria and beyond.
Highlights of the event will include sympathy walk, press conference, interdenominational prayer session (Islam, Christianity & Traditional Religion), cultural homage visit to the Olubadan Palace, visit to orphanage homes, grand finale of sporting competitions, security and safety lecture, culture displays, merit awards, among others.
