West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has officially released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, for school candidates.
The examination body announced the development today through its official X account, directing candidates to generate their Personal Identification Number, or PIN, on the WAEC portal before checking their results on the WAEC Direct website.
According to WAEC, candidates are required to provide their examination number, the National Identification Number used during registration, and complete an OTP verification process to obtain the PIN and serial number needed to access their results.
This year’s examination was conducted between April 21 and June 19, with about 1.96 million candidates from over 24,200 secondary schools across Nigeria participating.
While the majority of candidates sat for the conventional pen-and-paper examination, a larger number of schools adopted the Computer-Based Testing, CBT, format compared to previous years.
WAEC had earlier indicated that the results would be released approximately 45 days after the conclusion of the examination.
Candidates can now proceed to generate their PIN and check their results through the official WAEC platforms.
