Renewed Hope Youth Engagement (RHYE), Kwara State Chapter, has described as unfounded and ironic a statement by the Coalition of Kwara APC Young Stakeholders (CKAYS) alleging that the Kwara State Government under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq denied approval for a Renewed Hope Conference.
In a statement signed by Abdulmumeen Abubakar of the Media Directorate, RHYE Kwara questioned how anyone could doubt the governor’s commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda when he is the primary financier of RHYE Kwara — the youth platform mandated to mobilise young people for the President’s agenda in the state.
“RHYE is not abstract. It is an organised movement, and the Governor has been its principal supporter and financier in Kwara. That fact alone should end the attempt to portray him as opposed to the President’s agenda,” the group said.
RHYE further asked: “If Governor AbdulRazaq were afraid of the Renewed Hope message, why would he fund the youth movement taking that message to the grassroots?”
The statement also highlighted President Tinubu’s confidence in the governor, noting that the President appointed him Chairman of the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme Committee. “Such strategic appointment reflects confidence in his loyalty and competence. The President’s confidence speaks louder than political allegations,” it added.
RHYE Kwara stated that it has no knowledge of any conference by CKAYS or any denial by the government.
It challenged CKAYS to provide evidence if it stands by its claim.
According to the Group, serious allegations require verifiable evidence, not insinuations.
RHYE Kwara said it would not allow the President’s name to be used to create friction between the President and a Governor he trusts.
It maintained that the Governor who funds the President’s youth movement cannot be described as an enemy of the agenda.
The organisation reaffirmed its focus on mobilising Kwara youth for President Tinubu and communicating the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda, declaring that “Kwara is firmly in the Renewed Hope family.”
