Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja, Sheikh Dr Abdulkadir Jumuah Salman Solagberu, has expressed delight over the emergence of a 23-year-old female scholar, Akinola Aishah Mojisola, as the overall best graduating student of Darul Kitab Was-Sunnah, an Islamic and Arabic institution in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Aishah’s feat is historic as she became the first female student in the 34 years history of the institution founded in 1992 to emerge as its overall best graduating student.
The final examination results were released yesterday , Wednesday with the Ilorin indigene emerging ahead of other graduating students.
Her achievement elicited excitement from Sheikh Solagberu, the proprietor of Darul Kitab Was-Sunnah, who is also a renowned Islamic scholar and the first Malami Ubandoma of the Ilorin Emirate (Grand Sheikh).
The development marks a significant milestone for the institution and its students, particularly female students pursuing Arabic and Islamic scholarship.
Aishah, who was born and raised in Idi Ape area of Ilorin, developed an interest in Arabic and Islamic education before enrolling at Darul Kitab Was-Sunnah.
Throughout her studies, she distinguished herself through commitment to learning, discipline and academic excellence, qualities that ultimately culminated in her emergence as the best graduating student of her set.
