Professor of Mining Engineering at Kwara State University, Malete, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Sikiru Ottan, has expressed profound gratitude to all guests who graced the wedding ceremony of his daughter, Rohdiat Oluwakemi Ottan, held on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
In a letter of appreciation, Prof. Ottan said the presence, prayers and generosity of guests transformed the joyous occasion into a memorable event for his family.
He specially thanked His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Zulu Gambari, CFR, for his royal blessings and fatherly benevolence.
He noted that the Emir was ably represented by the Balogun Alanamu, whose presence added prestige and sanctity to the ceremony. He also appreciated other royal fathers including the Olojoku of Ojoku, Elesa of Oke Ode, Ohoro of Shao, Gbamoyin of Jimba Oja, as well as the Zanna of Ilorin, Magaji Muse, Shetima Ngeri and other Magajis of Ilorin Emirate.
Prof. Ottan extended gratitude to Islamic scholars and clerics who provided spiritual leadership at the event.
He thanked the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Shaykh Muhammad Bashir Imam Fulani, and the Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Shaykh Dr. Jumuah Assalman Solagberu, describing the latter’s intellectual and spiritual contributions as enriching.
He also commended the Guest Lecturer, Shaykh Soibu Bayan, for his eloquent discourse.
He further appreciated Khalifa Uthman Kayode Baba n Pakata, Khalifa Okutagidi, the bride’s guardian and Quranic teacher, Shaykh Abdulquadri Suyuti of Taofeequllahi Islamic Academy, Ilorin, and other Imams and Alfas from the Ottan family and Agbaji environs.
The Don expressed deep appreciation to the management and staff of Kwara State University, led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, Deputy Vice Chancellors, Professor Moshood Mahmud Jimba and Professor Shehu Usman Adam, Registrar, Dr. (Mrs) Kikelomo Sallee, Bursar, Mallam Mohammed Abubakar, and University Librarian, Professor Abdulsalam Abiodun Salman.

Prof. Ottan prayed for Allah’s blessings, long life, good health and prosperity for all guests and their families, noting that their collective contributions made his daughter’s wedding a resounding success.
