President Bola Tinubu has publicly praised his son, Seyi Tinubu, for organising young Nigerians through the City Boy Movement, urging him to expand his efforts and set an example for future generations.
Tinubu gave the commendation on Monday during an engagement with the leadership and members of the City Boy Movement at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he acknowledged his son’s role in mobilising young people and building grassroots political structures.
The President said Seyi had undertaken the initiative without seeking a political title or public office, describing his approach as humble and focused on engaging young Nigerians.
Addressing his son directly, Tinubu said, “He’s running after his father,” while responding to questions he said he had received about Seyi’s political ambitions.
He added that Seyi and his associates had invested their time in reaching out to young people, listening to their concerns and organising them through the movement.
However, Tinubu urged his son not to rest on his current efforts, saying he expected him to do more in the years ahead.
The President also challenged Seyi to set an example that his children and other Nigerian youths could emulate, adding that public service should be regarded as an honour.
