A legal tussle between the Kwara State Government and the sacked Auditor General Mr. Samuel Omoniyi Adeleye has ended in favour of the state government.

National Industrial Court dismissed the former official’s prayer for him to be reinstated to the office.

In a judgment last Thursday, the court said it cannot reinstate the former Auditor General as he was already due for retirement, and so his case amounted to an academic exercise.

The suit is titled NICN/IL/01/2022 Mr. Samuel Omoniyi Adeleye Vs Governor of Kwara State & Ors.

The only prayer sought by the dismissed officer was for him to be reinstated and the court refused to grant the prayer.
