In Ilorin, the Kwara State capital today, Dr Abdulkadir Tunji Nagode does not need any introduction.
He is a household name already.Identified in various quarters particularly in Ilorin Emirate as humility personified, who is infused with brilliance, exceptional calling of philantrophism and uncommon articulation, these attributes place Nagode in a special class.
He is a man of the moment and honour whose name resonates with the people due to his tenacity of purpose, accuracy, creativity and sense of modesty.
Religiously, this subject has become the standing pillar for the expansion of Islamic tenets.
Dr Nagode, a thoroughbred professional in the world of accounting, has positively affected all those who have associated or come across him in one way or the other.
Small wonder, he is described as the pride and delight of the “House of Alimi” in particular and Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State by extension.
Here is a global citizen, and despite his infectious personality and influence on the global stage, he remains an Ilorin homeboy.
Dr Abdulkadir Tunji Nagode is the Dan Amana of Ilorin Emirate (the trusted son) coming after his late father, Alhaji Saliu Alabi Nagode (1934-1983).
Late Alhaji Saliu Alabi Nagode was one of the influential, dependable and seasoned technocrats produced by Ilorin Emirate.
He was good for his times, hence he received reciprocal benevolence from his people. No doubt, the Dan Amana title of Ilorin Emirate is held from prominent families.
This journalist, from interactions with people of diverse interest/views, sees Dr Abdulkadir Tunji Nagode as a frontliner, true son of the Emirate, who promotes the corporate interest of Ilorin Emirate with a heart of gold to assist his fellow beings in all spheres of life.
The covetous traditional title of Dan Amana Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate bestowed on him by the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, is well thought out, very fitting to a fellow citizen regarded by many as a pleasant character, and so loved as one of the simple creations in the hands of the Almighty Allah.
Dan Amana is a standing pillar and champion of Islamic activities and its expansion through his various programmes and projects in the Emirate, expending his hard earned resources joyfully, sincerely and wonderfully devoid of expecting “Thank you” from anybody/quarters: Warofa’anau Mokana Aliyah, insha Allah. Amin.
He appreciates education as the basis for life advancement, hence, he has offered scholarships to many indigent students pursuing different professional courses in various institutions across the country.
It has to be put on record that in the course of documenting the profile of this illustrious son of Ilorin Emirate, some people confided in this journalist that they have group prayer session(s) daily, weekly, monthly with midnight prayers for Dr Abdulkadir Tunji Nagode, Dan Amana of Ilorin Emirate that Almighty Allah should bless him with continued good health, long life, prosperity and more success(es) in all his activities/endeavours.
As his profile rises daily heading for greatness, more prosperity and higher altitude in the society, it will attract comments, views, publications and various forms of opinion moulding sessions with a brief that is grounded on assurance of its truth.

Dr Nagode attended the famous United Primary School, Ilorin. After his primary education, he proceeded to the Esie-Iludun Grammar School from where he earned his West African School Certificate in 1985.
In 1994, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Jos.He is also a distinguished alumnus of the University of Ilorin. He earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science Degrees in Business Administration from the University in 2001 and 2003 respectively.
He capped his academic attainments with a doctorate degree in Business Administration from the same University of Ilorin in 2023.
Dan Amana of Ilorin Emirate is a Fellow, Certified National Accountant (FCNA). He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administrators.
He is equally an alumnus of both the prestigious Harvard and Cambridge Universities where he received certificates in Finance for Senior Executives (FSE) and Driving Corporate Performance (DCP) from the Harvard Business School (HBS), University of Harvard, Boston Massachusetts, USA.
He also earned a General Management Certificate from the University of Cambridge-Judge Business School (CJBS) in addition to a mini-MBA from the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) both in the United Kingdom.
Attending quite a number of trainings and conferences at home and abroad, he is an affluent Nigerian who lives a simple and unassuming lifestyle, and a Nigerian who has completely dedicated his life to the service of his people.
Today, Dr Abdulkadir Tunji Nagode, the Dan Amana of Ilorin Emirate is the Executive Director, Finance, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) Abuja, Nigeria.
He is happily married to Hajia Nafisat Nagode and the union is blessed with children and grandchildren.
As he marches forward, the Dan Amana of Ilorin Emirate deserves the recognition, accolades and ovation following his appointment on Friday, September 13, 2024, wishing him a very eventful, peaceful and rewarding reign.
He is a jolly good fellow who dresses to match without colour riot and a positive example to the world.
