Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its resolve in providing financial supports and empowerment to youths to enable them self reliant in the state.
General Manager, Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP), Dr Abdulwasiu Olayinka Tejidini dropped this hint at the fourth-quarter Inter-Ministerial Press Briefing, held at the conference room of Kwara State Ministry of Finance, Ilorin, the state capital.
Dr Tejidini pledged unhindered financial aid to small and medium scale businesses to vulnerable citizens particularly, rural dwellers and sought cooperation of the people in achieving full potentials of the scheme.
The General Manager described year 2024 as a year where significant number of cash grants and disbursements were made from the state government to beneficiaries of different categories, ranging from compensation of business owners affected by the road setback enforcement in Ilorin metropolis.
According to him, financial support has been provided for the indigenes of the state affected by the inferno at Dosumu market, Lagos state, down to social protection support programme where cash was disbursed to women into petty trading (Owo ishowo).
The General Manager also noted that ongoing Kwaraprenuer is to dish financial support to different individuals and businesses, who have pitched their business ideas and considered fit for the cash grant.
He explained that beneficiaries are drawn from the 16 Local Government Areas of the state, devoid of bias.
Dr Tejidini confirmed that Kwarans of various ideologies and political affiliations have benefited from this scheme.
He identified Programme as a brainchild of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON Executive Governor of Kwara State, put in place majorly to provide Kwarans with leveled playing ground, aimed at lifting vulnerable households and individuals out of poverty.
Dr Tejidini solicited full support of the people of Kwara State, towards the policies and programmes of this administration and urged Kwarans to cooperate with KWASSIP to achieve its set goals and potentiality.
He was of the view that the success story recorded so far in KWASSIP is dedicated to Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration.
