As usual I was on Facebook when I read it that the mother of Fuji Maestro, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde popularly known as K1 Deultimate, has died. I posted it as well on my page and offered prayers for her.
Then later on the same medium I watched a video posted by that Tinubu died hard supporter, Ayekooto Akindele sharing the moment President Tinubu placed a condolence call to Wasiu Ayinde over the loss of his mother.
The conversation was deep because one can decipher that the relationship between Mr President and the Fuji Maestro is beyond rhetoric. It was that of a committed leader with that of a loyal follower .
According to Wasiu Ayinde,”my mother has gone to meet her sister, and they would be having their meeting there”.Mr President then said K1 would live long and he would not suffer. Then he said he wouldn’t suffer after all Tinubu is his father. Not in a country where you – Asiwaju is the president.Asiwaju’s son must not suffer.Mr. President also said the son of the bereaved must not suffer. Then the Fuji Maestro thanked him.Mr President said “God bless you”.That was the end of the conversation.
As a conscious and caring political leader, a call to your committed follower alleviates his/her worries and challenges by half.It would enable him or her have psychological and emotional stability. Sometimes when one is at his lowest hour, he needs that person that would give him words that would serve as a sooth balm. That was exactly what the president had done.
Yes, some people would say it is not a big deal after all K1 has been his ally for a long time. The truth is that the president values his supporters so much that he would be there for them at every point. In politics everybody is important; you don’t denigrate your followers. Because your relevance lies in their commitment to your cause .
In the same vein,Adejare Ibrahim, another Tinubu supporter on his Facebook post, also reacted to the phone conversation between President Tinubu and K1:
“I read a very deep meaning to this call. It is an honour money cannot buy.I love leaders who are loyal to their followers the way their followers are loyal to them.
K1 is loyal to Asiwaju. Asiwaju is loyal to K1. The relationship keeps flourishing.Sincerely, I’m thrilled. Asiwaju is a great leader. May Allah keep blessing him for us.”
The message here is that, as a leader treat your loyal followers with sincerity and magnanimity.
