Ekiti Lawmaker, Abolarin Gabriel Advocates Integration Of Local Vigilantes Into Nigeria’s Security Architecture

Lawmaker, representing Ekiti Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Mr. Ganiyu Abolarin Gabriel, has proposed the integration of local vigilante groups into the national security architecture
Mr. Gabriel made this suggestion during an interaction with the Guild of Digital Journalists Kwara State Chapter in Ilorin

He stressed the importance of collaboration between local vigilantes, Nigerian Police Force and other security entities to address the prevailing insecurity in the country.
The legislator linked the severe food scarcity to the malicious activities of bandits that have impeded farmers’ access to their agricultural lands.
He expressed concern over the significant decline in farming activities in various rural areas due to the menace of banditry, advocating for a genuine commitment from policymakers to confront the security dilemmas.

Regarding his achievements, Mr. Gabriel highlighted the successful implementation of borehole projects and financial empowerment programs that have benefitted a substantial number of constituents.
