An Ilorin-based Islamic Scholar, Shaikh Shuaib Shafihi-Alaiye has cautioned parents against the indulgence of their children in child labour.
Imam Shafihi-Alaiye gave the caution in a chat with journalists ahead of the twelfth year Anniversary of Imam Shuaib Alaiye Islamic Training Centre slated for April, this year.

According to him, subjecting children of school age into street hawking, trading and other forms of child abuse are detrimental to their academic programmes.
The Islamic Preacher challenged parents and guardians to bequeath in their children, sound Islamic and western education on to guarantee prosperous future.

Imam Shafihi-Alaiye also tasked parents to be more responsible and responsive to the plights of their children to insulate them against negative tendencies.
