Abubakar Kawu Baraje Islamic Centre Introduces Vocational Training, Graduates 180

Abubakar Kawu Baraje Foundation (AKBF)in Ilorin, Kwara State, has organized a skills acquisition training for 53 people to provide them with means of livelihood.
 Chairman of the foundation’s Board of Trustees, Barrister AbdulKadir Adelodun disclosed this at the 28th graduation of students of Abubakar Kawu Baraje Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies, Gerewu, Ilorin.

He said the beneficiaries were trained in six vocations that could transform their lives and make them useful to themselves and the society.
Barrister Adelodun who was represented by Amb. Sheikh AbdulAzeez, said they were trained in the production and packaging of liquid soaps, air freshener disinfectants like dettol, and school chalk production.

Earlier, the Chairman of the management Board of Abubakar Kawu Baraje Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies, Justice Soliu Mohammed, said 180 pupils and students were graduating in various areas of training at the institute.
Justice said the management has ensured high level discipline amongst the students and staff of the institute in order to keep the high standard that the institute is known for.
He pointed out that the certificates of the institute were recognised by tertiary institutions for admission not only in Nigeria, but globally.

 

The Jurist praised the Founder of the Institute, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje for his consistent support, but asked for more.
In his remarks, by the founder of AKBF, Alh Abubakar Kawu Baraje, said skill acquisition training has been added to institute’s programmes in order to make the graduates of the Centre self- employed and employers of labour.

Alhaji Baraje stated that the students are being trained in the production and packaging of liquid soap, air freshener, disinfectants, like dettol, hypo , izal and school chalk.
According to him, the training is aimed at making the graduates self- sustained and become manufacturers in the nearest future
Alhaji Baraje noted that graduates will be very comfortable and be less dependent on white collar job if they undergo skills acquisition training programmes while in school.

The Founder commended the management and staff of the Centre, and the students for making the centre proud.
He urged the graduates to be good ambassadors of their family, Islam, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria and their alma mata.
