Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission and Patron of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Mallam Bola Mogaji, has congratulated the Kwara State U-14 team for their impressive performance and qualification for the final of the ongoing Chief of Naval Staff U-14 Football Tournament in Kaduna.
Kwara State edged past the host team, Kaduna, in a dramatic penalty shootout following a tense goalless draw in regulation time.
The young Kwara boys held their nerve to secure a 5-4 victory on penalties, booking their spot in the tournament final scheduled for Friday, May 23, 2025.
Mallam Mogaji expressed immense pride in the team’s resilience and talent, commending both the players and the technical crew for their hard work and discipline.
He also praised the leadership of Kwara YSFON under Mr. Demola Kiyesola for their dedication to youth football development in the state.
The Executive Chairman is extremely delighted with the performance of the young, talented footballers.
According to him, their courage and commitment on the field today speak volumes of the hard work put in by the entire YSFON structure in Kwara under Mr. Demola Kiyesola.
He urged the team to remain focused as they aim to bring the trophy home, not just for themselves, but for the people of Kwara and the entire YSFON family.
Coach Mogaji prayed God to crown the efforts of everyone involved in nurturing the young stars and charged the team to go all the way and lift the trophy.
Meanwhile, Kwara State will face Enugu State in what promises to be an exciting final tomorrow in Kaduna.
