Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), under the leadership of its President-General, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has commended the reintroduction of the teaching of Christian Religious Studies in primary and secondary schools across the Katsina state.
A statement by the Secretary-General, (NSCIA), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede while applauding Governor Dikko Umar Radda urged other Governors in where any of the two major religions is in minority status to emulate Katsina state governor.
The Muslim Apex body in Nigeria said the act promotes fairness and inclusivity of which mirror the eternal precepts of Islam- exhibited by Dr Dikko Umar Radda, the Executive Governor of Katsina State.
It noted that this development is worthy of commendation, especially as it conforms, once again, to the Islamic principles of equity, fairness, and justice.
The Islamic body maintained that it is a common knowledge that the religion of Islam condemns the persecution of the minority in its totality.
