Kwara State athletics team has arrived at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, for the official accreditation ahead of the 2025 National Youth Games (NYG).
The delegation, made up of young athletes, coaches, and team officials, was among the early arrivals as preparations intensify for the commencement of the multi-sport youth event.
The exercise involved verification of athletes’ documents, age confirmation, and issuance of accreditation tags, granting them access to competition and residential zones within the Games village a mandatory step for all participating teams.
Kwara is expected to compete in a wide range of track and field events at the NYG, with the athletics team being one of the strongest contingents representing the state.
The athletes, many of whom will be making their NYG debut, have been in intensive training in recent weeks and are eager to make their mark on the national stage.
The National Youth Games is aimed at discovering and nurturing young sporting talent across Nigeria, and Kwara State remains committed to playing a key role in that vision.
