Emir of Ilorin,Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari has expressed confidence that AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin University would soon attain global status, in view of the world class facilities and calibre of man power in the Institution.
Alhaji Zulu-Gambari gave this indication in Ilorin, while receiving the founder and Chancellor of AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin University Oke Ogba Ganmo in his Palace.
He enjoined the Proprietor and the authority of the newly established institution to be more pro active, innovative focus and consistent in the task of fast tracking the attainment of the goals of establishing A Private Not- For- Profit University, for global Citizens.
The Monarch who is the Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs described education as an antidote to poverty and security challenges.
He praised the foresight of Alhaji AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin for establishing the University in his ancestral hometown to increase indigent students’ access to world class university education in their localities.
The Emir of Ilorin is delighted that Alhaji AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin has played significant role in ensuring socio- economic wellbeing of the people of Ilorin Emirate.
Alhaji Zulu-Gambari tasked other affluent people of Ilorin Emirate not to relent in using their endowments towards ensuring socio-economic emancipation of the people of Ilorin Emirate in particular and Kwara State in general.
Earlier, Chancellor of the University, Alhaji AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin, accompanied by the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University, Professor Abdul Rasheed Na’allah and the Acting Vice Chancellor of the Institution,Prof AbdulRauf Ambali, said he were in the Palace to seek royal blessings and advice of the foremost monarch,as the University commences full academic session.
Alhaji AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin assured that all the pieces of advice of his royal majesty would be put into effective implementation to fast track the attainment of the noble aims of establishing the Ivory Tower.
