Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has expressed joy to Nigerians on the occasion of 65th Independence Day celebration.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, in a goodwill message issued on Wednesday by his Press Secretary, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, noted that the nation’s unity is non-negotiable in the face of numerous challenges such as kidnapping, banditry and political tension among others.
He disclosed that, Nigeria’s Independence signifies perseverance, dignity, growth and development among diverse ethnic groups with common values of peace, justice, cultural heritage and patriotism.
The Monarch condemned the incidence of Oke-Ode banditry attack which he described as babaric, unfortunate, uncharitable and height of wickedness against humanity and appealed to governments at all levels and security agencies to improve on the measure of protecting lives and property of the citizens in order to curb the reoccurence of such heinous act.
The Emir also commended the Military and other para-military formations for their courage, unwavering commitment and dedication towards keeping the nation united as an indivisible entity.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari prayed Almighty Allah to continue to shower His absolute protections and providence on Nigerians home and abroad and guide our leaders to the right directions for positive impacts on humanity.
