A 96-year-old woman, Mrs Elizabeth Onike, was seen crying at Polling Unit 019, Umudim Akasi, Agulu II Ward 8, Anaocha LGA, after INEC officials told her she could not vote because she lacked a valid voter’s card.
She said she had voted at the same unit in previous elections and expressed sadness that she would be unable to take part in choosing the next governor.
The polling unit recorded a large turnout as 16 candidates challenged the incumbent, Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
