Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Maimartaba Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR on the celebration of 30th anniversary on the throne of his forefathers.
In a statement jointly signed by the Council’s Chairman, Abdullateef, Lanre Ahmed, and Secretary, Mahmood Olayinka Alaya, the Union described the Emir’s three-decade reign as one marked by peace, unity, and progressive leadership, not only in Ilorin Emirate but across Kwara State.
The statement noted that his ascension to the throne in 1995, Emir Sulu-Gambari has been a pillar of stability, a bridge-builder among communities with his unapologetic support for education, journalism, and good governance.
The NUJ praised his royal wisdom and fatherly disposition, which have contributed immensely to the state’s harmonious coexistence and social development.
The 30 years of Your Royal Highness’ reign have been a blessing to Ilorin Emirate in particular and Kwara State in general. The Emir has continued to symbolize peace, progress, and inclusiveness in leadership, the statement read in part.
The Union prayed the Almighty Allah to grant the royal father long life, good health, and continued wisdom to steer the affairs of his people for many more fruitful years to come.
