Rotarian Olaoluwa Bankole has been inaugurated as the new President of the Rotary Club of Ilorin Prestige.
Popularly known as Bankork, Rotarian Bankole was officially inaugurated during the Presidential Appreciation Award and Handover Dinner held at Princess Luxury Hotel, Ilorin.
In his acceptance speech, Rotarian Bankole promised to be guided by the Club’s Five-Year Strategic Plan focused on community impact, in alignment with the District and Rotary International.
As the new Rotary year 2024-2025 begins, themed “The Magic of Rotary,” he assured members of his commitment to raising Rotary awareness, enhancing club development through improved membership and retention, and increasing impact by implementing projects that address pressing community needs and create lasting change.
He highlighted plans to expand the club’s reach by leveraging social media and introducing training and development programs for the benefit of all members.
Rotarian Bankole extended heartfelt appreciation to past leaders who have paved the way for him, including Presidents from the themes “Open Opportunities,” “Serve to Change Lives,” “Imagine Rotary,” and “Create Hope in the World.”
He specifically recognized in absentia Rotarian Khadijat Oluwatoyin Musah PHF, one of the club leaders and founding member, and Rotarian Olufemi James Akinola PHF, the chartered president.
The new President pledged to be a receptive and attentive leader and sought guidance from club and district leaders as mentors when critical decisions need to be made.
Rotarian Bankole will be steering the club with the following Club Officials Adepeju Sarumi (Vice President & Treasurer), Maryam Ibraheem (Secretary), Kehinde Obaniyi (Immediate Past President), Funmilayo Martha Oguns (Past President) and Board of Directors Committee; Adepeju Obaniyi (Club Administrations), Oluwagbenga Olaifa (Club Membership), Olufemi Akinola (Club Foundation), Oluwatoyin Khadijat Musah (Club Relation), Michael Oladunjoye (Club Service Project)
Rotarian Bankoke added that under his leadership, the following club extensions will be strengthened.
Rotaract Clubs of Ilorin Prestige & Offa Metropolitan; Interact Club of Ilorin Prestige FGC and the Rotakids Club of Ilorin Prestige respectively.
He also expressed gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him as the new President.
Other award recipients included the Assistant Governor to the Club, Rotarian Michael Oguntoye PHF, Rotarian Ayo Olagunju PHF and many others who have been supportive of the club, as recognized by the outgoing President.
Similarly, Rotarian Oluwagbemiga Olaifa Oluomo 1 was recognized with three different awards, including recognition for his contributions to the Rotary Foundation and his financial and selfless service support.
The event featured the presentation of awards to the recipients and the official handover from the outgoing President, Rotarian Kehinde Obaniyi, to the new President, Rotarian Olaoluwa Bankole
