Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, on his appointment as the Sarduana of Ilorin by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR.
In a statement issued by the University Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor described the appointment as “befitting and well-deserved”.
Professor Egbewole said the Governor, who is also the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), deserves the traditional title conferred on him, considering his excellent personal qualities, numerous contributions and exemplary impacts as a political leader and a distinguished son of Ilorin.
The Vice Chancellor particularly appreciated the tireless efforts of the Governor in ensuring that peace and harmony prevail across Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State at large of which the University has been a significant beneficiary.
Professor Egbewole, who is also the Secretary-General of the Association of West African Universities (AWAU), specifically thanked the government and people of Kwara State for the generous support the University has been enjoying from them since its establishment about 50 years ago.
The Vice Chancellor wished the Governor a more successful tenure.
