Former Vice Chancellor, Kwara University, Malete, Late Professor Muhammad Mustapha Akanbi has been identified as an achiever who consolidated on the foundation laid to sustain the vision and mission of founding fathers of the University

Associate Professor and Pioneer Dean, Faculty of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, University of Abuja, Doctor Khadijat Toyin Musah, gave this indication in a statement today to commemorate 2 years remembrance of the late Vice Chancellor

Doctor Toyin-Musah said, the Professor Akanbi- led administration worked assiduously to entrench academic excellence and administrative standard in the institution through well thought-out strategies and plans being carefully implemented

The Director, Center for Health Systems Support and Development, also in the University of Abuja recounted that she was appointed by Professor Mohammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN as the Director, Center for Wellness and Creative Arts Therapy, a Center well known for cycling Programmes through Kwara State University Cycling Club.

According to her, late KWASU Vice Chancellor recorded Infrastructural Development, Master Plan and Memorandum of Agreement(MOA) for the construction of Students’ Smart City expected to accommodate more than 20,000 students

She posited that late Professor Akanbi also attracted 100 kW solar power system donation from the Government of the Republic of Lithuania to boost power supply on campus.

Doctor Toyin-Musah maintained that establishment of e-learning support hub at the KWASU Business School (KBS) to boost the technology-driven teaching and learning process was a landmark achievement by the late Don

She described Professor Akanbi’s landmark achievements in KWASU as countless and prayed Allah to grant him Al-Janatul Al Fridous

Dr Toyin-Musah prayed Allah to comfort his wife, children and his entire family to bear the colossal loss

Pofessor Muhammad Mustapha Olaroungbe Akanbi SAN (24 January 1971 – 20 November 2022) was a Nigerian professor of Law and the former Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University.

He was a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and member of the Nigeria Bar Association.
