Kwara State Emergency Management Agency (KWASEMA) has handed over relief materials to victims of Boat Mishap in Gbajibo, Kaiama Local Government Area of the State in compliance with the directive of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Items handed over to the victims includes Rice, Maize, Spaghetti, Vegetable oil, Seasoning cubes, Salt, men, women and children wears among many others.
Secretary of the Agency, Mallam Saadu Mogaji extended his condolences to the victims and their families reiterating the need for the people to adhere to best safety practices while on boats by using their life jackets, and avoiding overloading.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Kaiama Local Government Area represented by the Speaker, Kaiama Legislative Council, Mallam Idris Abdulkabir Kora applauded the responsiveness continually displayed by Governor AbdulRazaq’s Administration.
He said the relief materials will go a long way in bringing succour to the victims and their families.
Similarly, the Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Muazu Omar represented by the Waziri of Kaiama, Alhaji Adamu Gene appreciated the support of Governor Abdulrazaq for the show of love and compassion shown to the people and prayed for God protection.
The Community expressed gratitude for the humanitarian intervention provided by the State Government through the Kwara State Emergency Management Agency.
Governor AbdulRazaq and the Speaker Kwara State House of Assembly, Engineer Yakuba Danladi Salihu in company of officials of the Kwara State Emergency Management Agency had earlier visited the community to sympathise with the victims of the boat Mishap.
