Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has extended warm greetings to the Christian community on the joyous occasion of Christmas, which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ.
In a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed, and Secretary, Mahmood Olayinka Alaya, the Union emphasized the importance of the season as a time for reflection, prayer, and compassion.
The NUJ called on Christian faithful to use the occasion to offer fervent prayers for the nation’s leaders for new direction, economic prosperity, well being, and a lasting resolution to the various challenges facing the country.
The statement also encouraged Christians to embrace the spirit of giving by extending gifts and support to the less privileged, underscoring the need for act of kindness as an integral part of the celebration.
The Kwara NUJ urged the citizens to imbibe the virtues of love, unity, and tolerance that Christmas typifies, stressing the importance of these values in stimulating a peaceful and progressive society.
