Nigerian journalists have been charged to always create contents geared towards promoting women leadership in their respective media organizations
Media Associate, ARDA-DCI, Mrs Adebisi Adetunji gave the charge at a Seminar in partnership with Arda Development Communication Incorporated and United Nations Women held in Ilorin
The Seminar was themed ” Representation Matters: How Media Should Portray Women in Political Leadership and Governance in Nigeria”
Mrs Adetunji frowned at the current abysmal number of women in both National and State Assemblies despite their huge numerical strength
She advocated design of relevant women oriented Programmes showcasing outstanding successful women who have contributed immensely to the development of the Nation to spur others
The Media Trainer identified culture, religion, funding, inferiority complex and discrimination as major impediments to women leadership in the Country
Mrs Adetunji advised media outlets to always package divergent jingles addressing specific women political barriers to create awareness to change the narratives
She therefore challenged women folks to actively engage in politics with zeal and resilience to earn their rightful political positions
