Kwara Assembly Passes 2025 Appropriation Budget

Kwara State House of Assembly has passed the 2025 Appropriation Budget of Five Hundred and Eighty-Four Billion, Six Hundred and Ninety-Three Million, Four Hundred and Eighty Six Thousand, Six Hundred and Eighty Four Naira, Seventy Two Kobo.
The budget was passed following an upward review of the sum of Five Hundred and Forty Billion, Three Hundred and Sixty Eight Million, One Hundred and Nineteen Thousand, Seven Hundred and Sixty Five Naira presented by the state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq last month.
The House upped the appropriation bill before passage with a sum of Forty Four Billion, Three Hundred and Twenty Five Million, Three Hundred and Sixty Six Thousand, Nine Hundred and Nineteen Naira, Seventy Two Kobo to improve funding for critical Ministries such as Education, Health, Agriculture, Water, Housing, Youths and Works and Transport.
Capital Expenditure gulped Three Hundred and Seventy-Nine Billion, Three Hundred and Ninety-Six Million, Six Hundred and Ninety-Four Thousand, Five Hundred And Ninety-Seven Naira, Forty Kobo representing 64.9% while the remaining 35.1% is for the recurrent Expenditure of Two Hundred and Five Billion, Two Hundred and Ninety-Six Million, Seven Hundred and Ninety-Two Thousand, Eighty-Seven Naira, Thirty-two Kobo.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu in a remark, explained that Kwara State has continued with the template of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum out of the conviction that it is in line with global best practices in budgeting.
Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu noted that the National Charts of Accounts that was adopted and domesticated in the preparation of the 2024 Budget is also sustained adding that the 2025 budget of the State is in full compliance with the SABER template.
He also praised the Chairman of, the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Hon. Fatima Arinola Lawal, and other lawmakers for what he noted was a job well done and charged them to work for the substantial implementation of the budget in line with the constitutional provision.
The Speaker equally appreciated the Clerk and management of the House particularly the Budget, Planning Research & Statistics Department, the Committee Clerks, and, the entire staff of the House for their usual commitment and hard work and called on all Kwarans for their continuous support for the state government.
