Kwara NGO Pays First lady, Prof. Abdulrazaq Visit

 First Lady of Kwara state and Chairperson Nigeria Governors Spouses Forum, Prof Olufolake AbdulRazaq has advocated collaborative efforts among NGOs in Kwara state with the aim to achieve the sustainable development goals.
Prof. AbdulRazaq gave this indication during a courtesy visit by the Kwara NGO team on Monday 3rd of February, 2025 at her office in government house, Ilorin.

Prof. Olufolake while receiving the Kwara NGO Team emphasized on the need for proper coordination and management of other NGOs in the state through appropriate registration and creating platforms for capacity building.
The First Lady called for intensified efforts through productive collaborations amongst NGOs to stem the alarming rate of female genital mutilation (FGM) which has Kwara state as one of the highest offenders.
The team Lead of Kwara NGO, Mr. Adeleke Adebayo stated that the purpose of the visit was to consolidate on the previous visit to Her Excellency and to present their work plan for the year.
He enumerated the work-plans of Kwara NGO which includes: Ajike clinical monthly session, Kwara end of the year impact hangout, Kwara youth in development and sustainability, Commemoration of United nations days, among others, all aimed at achieving the sustainable development goals, while commending the Ajike People’s Support Centre which is an initiative of Amb. Prof Olufolake AbdulRazaq for always commemorating all the United nations days.

Commissioner for Social Development, Mrs Abosede Buraimoh in her remarks applauded the First Lady of Kwara state for her impactful contributions to the state through her office and the Ajike People’s Support Centre which varies from Training and skill acquisition, empowerment and sensitization programmes, while urging the Kwara NGO Team to capture the three senatorial district of the state in their work-plan of action.
Also, Commissioner for Water Resources, Mallam Usman Lade acknowledged the good legacies laid down by the Governor and First Lady of the state and further enjoined the team to build on them.

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sustainable development goals (SDGs), Dr. Mariam Imam explained that all the enumerated work plans are aimed at achieving the SDGs 17 goals accordingly, as she stated that arrangement has been put in place for stakeholders meeting to bring together NGOs in the state for productive achievements.
The courtesy visit has in attendance, Commissioner for Social development, Mrs Abosede Buraimoh, Commissioner for Solid minerals, Dr. Afeez Abolore, Commissioner for Water resources, Mallam Usman Lade, Commissioner for Business innovation and technology, Mrs Damilola Yusuf, Senior Special Adviser on Social development goals, Dr. Mariam Imam, Team Lead of Kwara NGO, Mr Adeleke Adebayo and his team.
