Kwara Monthly Sanitation Holds Sat 22nd,  Vehicular Movement Restricted

Kwara State monthly Environmental Sanitation exercise for the month of February will come up on Saturday, 22nd February, 2025.
The sanitation will hold between the hours of Seven O’clock and Ten O’clock (7:00am to 10:00am) in the Morning.
This is contained in a statement by the State Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge in Ilorin.
Hajia Buge enjoined the residents to participate fully in the sanitation exercise by clearing and cleaning both their residential and business environments.
The Commissioner stated that members of the public are to note that there will be no vehicular and human movement across the state during the period of the exercise.
She noted that waste management trucks will be made available for waste collection and subsequent disposal at government approved dump sites.
According to her it is a offence punishable under environmental law to dump refuse on pedestrian walkways, road side, drainages, canals, and all other unapproved dump sites.
Hajia Buge said that any attempt to obstruct or deny the government officials from carrying out their statutory obligation will be dealt with accordingly within the ambit of the law.
The Commissioner equally wished Muslim residents a blessed Ramadan in advance and beseech Allah to protect them during and after the forthcoming sacred month.
