Former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has said he was not rejected by the National Assembly as a Ministerial Nominee.
Mallam El-Rufai dropped this hint during an interview on National Television.
He explained that President Bola Tinubu simply changed his mind on the nomination.
The Former Governor noted that he had his plans after serving for eight years as governor of Kaduna state.
Mallam El-Rufai confirmed that the President publicly appealed to him to put his plans on hold and after sometime they both finally agreed that he would nominate him as a Minister as there were certain conditions he attached to that.
He observed that along the line, either the President changed his mind or something else.
It would be recalled that in August 2023, the Senate withheld the confirmation of El-Rufai as a Ministerial Nominee, citing security reports from the State Security Service for the action.
