Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bolakale Adisa Mogaji has advised parents and guardians to encourage children living with disabilities to engage in sporting activities.
Coach Mogaji gave the advice today while featuring on Albarika 89.9 FM Gamo Radio Programme
According to him, children with disabilities are also endowed with requisite skills to excel sports.
He cited a Kwara born disable athlete, Mariam Eniola Bolaji as a champion who had won medals for Nigeria and Africa at International completions making Kwara proud in the process.
Coach Mogaji said George Innih Stadium Complex is open for people living disabilities to showcase their talents to enable achieve their their potentials.
Speaking further, the Executive Chairman charged upcoming athletes to combine sports with with education to excel and have something to fall back on in future.
Coach Mogaji urged parents to allow their children participate in sports as sports is now money spinning venture money spinning venture.
Also Speaking, Director of Sports, Alhaji Ibrahim Bako pointed out that the Commission is also saddled with responsibilities of discovering hidden talents that could be nurtured to stardom.
Alhaji Bako stated State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is providing necessary financial, moral and the enabling environment for sports to thrive in the state.
