Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gambari will tomorrow turban a Legal Giant, Professor Yusuf Olaolu Ali as First Kuliyan Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate.
The ceremony will take place at Emir’s Palace, Ilorin beginning at ten O’clock in the morning.
Meanwhile, the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria, MMWG has described the occasion as a significant landmark in the history of Ilorin.
National Coordinator of the Media Group, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi made the remark while commenting on the epoch making event.
Alhaji Abdullahi identified Professor Yusuf Ali SAN as a man of tremendous personality, exemplary character and patriotic Nigerian who has contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole.
He opined that Professor Yusuf Ali has added feather to his cap having combined religious commitment with dedicated services to the people.
According to him, the first Kuliya Ngeri Chieftaincy title holder’s humanitarian services has gone a long way in making his life enviable for others to emulate.
The Media Group recalled his financial contributions to religious bodies, institutions and monuments across Nigeria including Ilorin Ultra Modern Jummua’ah Mosque, Ilorin Eid Praying Ground Development Projects as well as scholarships for Ilorin Emirate Students pursuing various educational programmes all over the Country.
On social and welfare packages, he said Professor Yusuf Ali has donated to various health facilities for the care of the people in Kwara State and across the Federation.
He maintained that such education friendly personality using his personal financial resources for medical care of known and unknown people, deserved to be honoured with such a high title of Kuliya Ngeri which means someone that has reached the pinnacle of law profession.
The Non Governmental Organization stated that as Chairman of Board of Trustees of Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria, Professor Yusuf Ali SAN has been sponsoring Media Da’wah on Television and other media organs in various parts of the Country.
Alhaji Abdullahi therefore urged other wealthy Muslims to emulate Professor Yusuf Ali for their wealth to attract them to paradise in the hereafter.
He said scores of people are being expected from all over the Country and beyond to grace the occasion.
