Hajj 2025: 2,174 Intending Pilgrims Vaccinated In Kwara

Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the vaccination of 2,174 intending pilgrims from across the sixteen local government areas of the State
Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir disclosed that the Saudi authority has made it mandatory for pilgrims to be vaccinated 10 days before leaving Nigeria.
Alhaji Abdulkadir explained that the vaccines are expected to protect them against oral polio, yellow fever and influenza.
He advised the pilgrims to seek medical attention if there are side effects.
The Executive Secretary pointed out that the vaccines would aid their immune system ahead of their pilgrimage and urged them to keep their yellow cards safe.
Also Speaking, Chairman of the Board, Professor Moshood Jimba charged the intending pilgrims for Hajj 2025 to cooperate fully with health officials and relevant agencies and participate in the vaccination exercise to keep them protected from meningitis, oral polio and yellow fever in order to keep their immune system fully protected ahead of the spiritual and sacred journey.
Director, Port Health of the Kwara State Primary Health Care, Mr Taiwo Afolabi who administered the first dose of the vaccine to one of the pilgrims, reiterated the Board’s proactive approach and dedication to a successful operation.
