The leadership of the Kwara State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), on Monday, paid a condolence visit to the Director of Digital Media, Voice of Nigeria (VON), Abuja, Hajia Hadizah Hussainah Sanni, over the passing of her mother, Hajia Mariam Olabisi Yusuf.
During the visit to the deceased residence in Ilorin, the Chairman, state council of NUJ, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed, described the transition of Hajia Yusuf as painful.
Ahmed recalled that in line with the holy scripture, there are times to live and die while human beings must strive to prepare for any eventuality.
He, however, noted that NUJ was delighted to know that the deceased lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation, adding that she was a pride to humanity in her lifetime and bequeathed good legacy to her children.
Also speaking, the state Chairperson of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Mrs Bashirat Bola Ayantola, said the deceased would be remembered for her good character.
She commiserated with the family of Hajia Yusuf and prayed Allah to grant her eternal bliss.
The Director of Digital Media, Voice of Nigeria (VON), Abuja, Hajia Hadizah Hussainah Sanni, while responding during the condolence visit, said her late mother was humility personified, notwithstanding her royal background.
On the condolence visit were the state Chairman, National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ), Alhaji Mohammed Tunde Akanbi; and immediate past state Chairperson of NAWOJ, Ayobola Ipinlaiye
Meanwhile, fidau for the repose of the soul of Hajia Mariam Olabisi Yusuf, will hold at her GRA residence, Ilorin tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10am.
