A 3-Day Unity Prayer Grand Finale has been organized by Christian Community in Kwara State in commemoration of 6th year in office Anniversary of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
The prayer session tagged “Prayer For the Executive Governor and 2027 In Focus” was at the instance of office Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Religion, Christian Affairs, Reverend Timothy Akangbe in Ilorin.
In his sermon, Ilorin-based Cleric, Reverend James Taiwo Aweda admonished Nigerians to always pray for leaders to achieve success in their official and personal engagements.
Reverend Aweda who is of UMCA Rehoboth City Church, Oyun, Ilorin described leadership as challenging and maintained that the easiest way to fail is to lead.
He noted that for citizens to prosper, they must pray for constituted authorities and identified prayer as a veritable tool to overcome challenges.
Also Speaking, State Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Bishop Sunday Timothy Adewole counseled Christians to participate in politics and be card carrying members of political parties of their choice as 2027 general election draws nearer.
He explained that no man gets to position without God’s knowledge and said Governor Abdulrazaq is a performing leader God has given the state.
He prayed for the smooth sail of Governor Abdulrazaq in office as it is the responsibility of Christians to pray for government in power.
The CAN Chairman tasked Governor Abdulrazaq’s appointees to work in tandem with the Governor to achieve desired results.
Bishop Adewole lauded Governor Abdulrazaq for not depriving Christians their entitlements and prayed Lord to strengthen him in running the affairs of the State.
In his speech, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Religion, Christian Affairs, Reverend Timothy Akangbe explained that the spiritual gathering was put in place to celebrate the power of prayers, unity and collective support for Governor Abdulrazaq.
Reverend Akangbe elucidated that the event embodied the spirit of Community and Solidarity for the State and thanked the Governor for the trust and confidence reposed in him.
In her Goodwilll Message,Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare, Dr Olufunke Shittu enjoined them not to relent in praying for the State and appreciated the SSA Religion, Christian Affairs for the Programme in honour of the Governor.
Presiding over, prayer session for the State, Reverend Peter Adeleye and Pastor Alfred Ojo prayed for continued unity, mercy, peace and success of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
The 3-Day Grand Finale Unity Prayer to commemorate 6th year in office of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq was laced with reading from the scripture by Pastor Ojo Olanrewaju and Alao Peter Oluwagbemi.
