Kwara State College of Technology, Offa has categorically debunked claims in viral video circulated by certain individuals on the state of one its hostels within the College premises.
A Statement by the Management of the institution titled ” False Claims and Viral Video Regarding a Hostel In College of Health Technology Offa” described the narrative on the viral footage as defamatory, frivolous and misleading.
The College explained that the hostel in question has not been allocated to any student and officially marked for renovation as such is not in active use as a student residence.
According to the Statement, over two months ago, all individuals who encroached upon the hostel were identified and promptly evacuated by the school authorities in line with the institution’s commitment to safety and orderliness within the College environment.
The Management stated that renovation and infrastructural development are ongoing in various parts of the College to provide a conducive learning and living environment for our community.
The institution expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq for his unwavering support and continuous investment in the educational sector.
The Statement noted that Governor Abdulrazaq administration’s commitment in revamping education in the state is evident and highly commendable.
It reiterated that the hostel featured in the viral video is not and has never been allocated to students in the current academic session as any contrary claim is intended to tarnish the image of the institution.
The Management therefore urged the public to disregard the misinformation and refrain from further dissemination of the falsehood.
It maintained that the Management remains transparent and welcomes constructive engagement from all stakeholders toward the progress of the College.
The College reaffirmed its commitment towards improving the welfare of all students and staff.
