In a significant development underscoring the state’s commitment to youth empowerment and community development, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Amb. Shehu Ndanusa Usman, paid an impromptu yet impactful visit to the newly established Craft Innovation Hub (CIH) in Agbo Oba, Ilorin.
The commissioner’s visit, which coincided with strategic planning discussions at the Hub, notably aligned with the state government’s ongoing efforts to foster meaningful youth development initiatives, especially within Adewole Ward, the home ward of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State.
Accompanied by Mr. Bello Mubarak, Hon. Amb. Shehu Ndanusa Usman commended the Founder, Abdulrasaq Ahmed Abiodun, and the CIH team for creating a facility that integrates advanced technology, vocational skills, entrepreneurial training, and health advocacy in a way that directly supports the Governor’s vision of empowering Kwara’s youth through skill development and sustainable economic initiatives.
Similarly, Alangua of Adewole Ward, Alhaji Yusuf Yakubu Adewole, who joined the visit, lauded the Hub’s timely initiative and expressed joy that such innovative and impactful programmes are being executed during the tenure of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and under his leadership
He described the initiative as a true reflection and emulation of the Governor’s good leadership style and vision.
During the commissioner’s tour, CIH was coincidentally hosting Mr. Adekunle Sulyman Adeniyi, Managing Director of MABIFUS Medical Diagnostics, and his laboratory supervisor.
The MABIFUS team was at CIH to finalize preparations for a major community health outreach scheduled for August 7th, 2025, where at least 200 community members will benefit from free health screenings. Services offered will include tests for Hepatitis B and C, Blood Group, HIV, Urinalysis, Blood Pressure, Body Mass Index (BMI), and Packed Cell Volume (PCV).
The free health screening initiative, supported by MABIFUS Medical Diagnostics, aligns perfectly with the state’s public health objectives and further demonstrates CIH’s commitment to holistic youth and community welfare beyond vocational and technological education.
The Craft Innovation Hub, which officially launches in August 2025, is poised to significantly contribute to community transformation in Kwara State, particularly enhancing opportunities for youth within the Governor’s home ward, Adewole. Stakeholders believe that such community-driven initiatives are essential for sustainable socio-economic development in Kwara State.
